If you need to call telstra, plan on making at least 3 calls as nothing ever gets fixed on a first try.
you should have called the Ghostbusters <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />
Actually I take it back. It took 4 phone calls to activate a prepaid telstra mobile phone.

And then they still screwed it up. I asked them to disable internet but not disable the telstra "free" sites. They said this was possible but...you guessed it....the telstra website was also blocked.

And can you believe I made a 1 second call to test the phone and it cost 75 cents!!! what a joke. Only reason I bought it was because it is next G and is supposed to have good coverage in the country.
I think they are only "free" for telstra customers. For example telstra's wap site. And there was some bigpond one too i think. Though I think it is just a trap to get telstra customers to start surfing so they eventually end up inadvertently leaving that site and go on some site that eats up all your phone credit in 10 seconds!!!

Hey guys!

Here is one line of advice.

Optus phones don't work in the Tasmanian highlands! And telstra phones only work some of the time.
you didn't call <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ohmy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':o' />

now i know why <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

hahaha. yes and i had my precious $10 of telstra phone credit whch is now all gone. It cost minimum of 75 cents a call which is a complete rip off.

Though you should have seen the price of the food. That was insane as well. Luckily we stocked up on food in Launceston. As the place where we were staying (Miena) had one milk bar and everything was 4 times the usual price for food.

you know it's getting so we're going to go from a nation of porkers to a nation of bean poles <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Yes they communicate by using carrier pidgeon (that wear aerodynamic jumpers due to the extreme weather)!
Nope. We flew to Launceston and hired a car from there. The only thing we did in Launceston was go to a Thai restaraunt on our way home. But that was twice the price of what I pay in Melbourne. Maybe I should have haggled over the price!
time to get your Humbug kits ready <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/ph34r.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Pizza is good so you should eat pizza (unless you are allergic to the ingredients in which case pizza is bad).

Yeah I wonder if there are any cats that suffer from insomnia (and only get 12 hrs sleep) <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />
