What's on your mind, HtH?

Well, you know, I'm just a bit bored I guess. I'm a social housing worker, hence the name HtH, Housing the Homeless, lol, I like the job but there's too much downtime. Also, it's a new career for me. And I used to be a manager so I'm a bit frustrated at having no decision making power. So, with all the downtime I thoufght I could help pass tghe time by chatting on the net. I've checked out some sites but they're so inane. I mean I don't wanna solve the world's problems but some sensible chat would be good. So, you put the acid on me, there's a start.

So what do you do in your role?

Manage long term tenancies for people who are in need, elderly, disabled, single mums etc. Attend to maintenance, collect rents, arbitrate neighbourhood disputes. It's like working in public housing, you know Housing Commission.

Do you like your job?

ahh! a sudden flurry of activity, must be lunch time, lol, yeah pretty much. It's rewarding cos we help people who are in need but also some of them are a bit feral. The work load is erratic, hence all the downtime now. Soon it will get busy cos we are gonna do annual rent reviews. Public housing rents go up every year in line with Centrelink benefits.
