I'm going to see him tonight in hope when we close our relationship chapter we can open a new chapter for friendship. It seems promising.

yah went pretty good .... tho i am still confused about the whole thing ... just have to try and accept he doesn't want to be with me and respect that and try for friendship n move forward. I tend to hold onto someone until i meet someone new so i guess it's just deciding when it's ok to start the search again :S

Tell us some more.[/quote]
Okay, I'm 19 years old. I love traveling, eating chocolate, watching movies, especially in the cinema. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Is that enough or what do you want to know more <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Whistle.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':Chicken:' />

Hi Kara,
It's tough for me as well as I HAVE to see and have contact with my ex from a 13 year long relationship as we share a child together.
The longer the ex is in your life the longer it may take you to move on, not to another relationship, that's a bad idea, but move on in your growth as a person to become a whole and happy individual who enjoy's your own company and does not need another person to make them happy.
Good luck with it all!

thanks johnbateman ... i am already to that stage now i think, where i enjoy my own company ... a partner is a plus ... i do really enjoy the company though, it adds a lot to ones life i think.
That would be hard having to see ya ex when you don't want to. I have accepted that it's over for the best now and we have successfully caught up a couple times as friends since and it seems to feel quite comfortable and hopeful. only time will tell however.

It is difficult but I have no desire to get back with her so don't find it an overly emotional experience.
Company is always good be it friends or family, having a partner can enhance your life but can also take away from your individuality. I think people put waaaaaay to much pressure on themselves to always be in a relationship. My life is enjoyable enough at the moment, loving going to the film festival which is on at the moment and spending time reading, watching DVD's, work keeps me busy so I hardly get time to even think about feeling lonely.
