Political Backflips And The Like...

Quote:Indeed. I'll be looking forward to knowing who the new PM will be next year or the year after Smile
Hopefully Turnbull.. He'd then give up his Comms portfolio and the new minister can build the NBN as it should...

Some debts are good debts.. The Treasurer knows this now. After all, just a few weeks ago he urged the people to spend spend spend, this Christmas..

I will never quite understand the broad band of the Liberals. Everyone I know in business loved broad band of Rudd. OK they were not fans of Labor but all of them support the NBN not the tacky version this Gov favor..frankly I think most Libs hate it too.

Let me make it very clear these men were far from being Labor voters indeed the complete opposite. The patchy incoherent broadband Malcolm is trying desperately and ineffectually to sell is a sad case of mediocrity.

Wow moving to Melbourne My...a warm welcome.

Your country has been very good to me ...like all countries there is much I love and some things I dislike but the warmth of the people is wondrous.

Did you ever play golf at Sentossa? Its a great club!

AS for Turnbull as PM I doubt it. They have to appease the Nationals who are conservatives.

Turnbull is more like a Menzies who was anything but a conservative despite his love of royalty.

Of course I also hope the Liberals will stop sucking up to the Nationals and introduce a carbon price.

Abbot seems totally confused on this issue but most of the Liberals deep in their hearts want action on climate.

THe debate on climate change, unless you are brain dead is over. Of course there is climate change.

Have a look at this country.

Singaporeans are not in denial but simply scared...what to do what to do.

In a way Libs did have a carbon tax, by re-indexing the fuel excise. It's a fairer tax on consumption IMO. And maybe even more effective... But it will also hurt people in the rural community pretty hard.

Not sure the Nationals will like the fuel excise, if they do now they wouldn't when it's revised up again.

Heh heh, so australia wins the Darwin award!

Apparently no one has a memory going back to the catastrophe now known as the Rudd/Gillard Era.

No memory of failed, shameless, budgetary attempts to by back political favour.

No memory of months of an approval of just 30%, culminating in electoral annihilation.

It's testimony  indeed to the power of persuasion and political spin that our very own, and owned, ABC is capable of.

To be able to cheer squad the ALP rabble to pole position in the polls is a prodigious feat of smoke and mirror values.

Happily no good deeds go unpunished, retribution may be slow coming,  but come it will.

We saw a very similar scenario in NZ some years ago, when a left leaning NBC was gutted - in economically adverse conditions.

Smoking Joe? He survived the reshuffle Sad
The political machine survies.

I'd believe it when I see it. AFAICT, these people will retire in glory, and get a comfortable pension supported by taxpayers.

No point in retributing anyway, the harm is done, the human lives are lost. Nothing we can do can change that. We can only hope not to repeat the same mistakes.

Our resident red neck is in full flight.

Wonder how many he can get rid of from Melbourne Chat this year.

Well the reality is the new senate will hinder this new Gov all term. Like Napthine our new Premier is a thoroughly nice man dedicated to his cause. I met Premier Napthine and found him charming.

Can we do without this constant disrespectful way you address our Premiers. And the Prime Ministers?

The language you used to describe Prime Minister Gillard was a disgrace. Now you are calling our new Premier Danny Boy. Its Andrews. Got it.

Look back at my posts I defy you to see any post I was disrespectful of the position.

High moral Ground?

OK if you insist on regurgitating your tired old cliches let me say the view from up here is generally pretty good but you spoil the landscape.

What you deviously dont reveal to others is  the fact that you have dished it out to many others in the most vile, racist, sexist way imaginable. There is never any intelligent discussion from you. I told you I actually voted Liberal!!! Pay attention.

Why dont you read the intelligent way others from the conservative side argue?

No one with a brain would denigrate great men like Gough Whitlam. Disagree sure but give me a break.I even believe Hamer was our greatest Premier. A Liberal!!!! I wrote a blog about him.

Your diatribe against Bob Brown was a disgrace but then again I know you would be perfectly happy to see the Franklin River turned into a hotel and the Great Barrier Reef dug up and used as a dump. Your hate for the environment is well documented.WE know how much you detest the next generation. In case others think I am unfair the Bob Brown attacks from you were never issue based, always on personality. You know that's true.

I just remain offended by the absence of any content in your constant diatribe.

You never put one intelligent argument forward on content only bitchy comments about Julia Gillards weight, red hair and partner.

I thought you would wear the red neck badge with pride.

Now you start on a newly elected leader and denigrate him before he has done anything.

I always addressed leaders as Prime Minister or Premier.

Hypocrite, you call me that?  ...you have made it clear you HATE Australians many many times...dont call me a hypocrite.'Everything is better in the UK according you. .

Any way I will move on this is boring to others.

Its getting ridiculous ...you have just about killed a once great site.

I am quite happy to sip my latte as you frequently say...I hope you enjoy your moonshine.

You used to be so friendly and we argued with respect until you started being cruel. So look back and you will see it was not me that started this.

Red Neck is nothing compared to the things you dished out to so many others.

BEHAVE YOURSELF!!

Fair enough .. I will take the feed back on board. I will not comment or connect with him.

All I say is that if he attacks you or your views you dont need to let him dominate this once great site.

I have had my say and thanks for that.

Nope. In fact the odds are it's the other way around.

I believe a business tax cut announcement is imminent.

Really? LOL.. You can't make this shit up. Big Grin Big Grin

I'm hoping that'd be the case.. Seriously hoping the GG wouldn't fire him (although admittedly I would love the irony)...

Quote:We could have Rudd or Gillard!
Gillard was a good PM.. Did surprisingly well given the cards she was dealt with..

At least Tony Abbott managed to not backflip on something - under a liberal government interest rates will always be lower.... RBA just cut rates by 0.25%.. That's not a good thing for retirees. The only policy he should backflip he couldn't...

It's not a good thing by any stretch. You know when the reserve bank cuts rates to even lower than GFC levels that the economy is turning to crap. The last thing we need is to be sliding backwards whilst other economies such as the U.S. is showing significant growth.

Yes Peter, It could be worse and probably will.

Let's have an early election Smile
