Probably something to do with seniority and that Telstra's service (not customer care) is generally of better quality.

Yeah I think the telstra next G service has better coverage than the competitors! It is a real shame!! I wish optus could out do them!

I have a pet hate for Telstra since they tried to f*ck me over not that long ago so my hopes are with the government crushing the telco into submission.

Yeah I vote for crushing them to hahaha <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':gathering:' />

True... they are quite successful in that regard! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':gathering:' /> 10 points for achieving that noble goal!

Being away from home (for the weekend) has (and still is) kept me, in the most part, dim to current events.

What do you mean by "NBN has been let by the Gov"... as in leased out to some third party?

Google Maps Navigation

Quote:Google Maps Navigation is an internet-connected GPS navigation system with voice guidance. It is part of Google Maps for mobile and is available for phones with Android 1.6 and higher.

Google Maps Navigation uses your phone's internet connection to give you the latest maps and business data. But that's not all that's different about Google's approach to GPS navigation. Watch the below video to learn more.

Depends on how the application works... if the map data is continuously updated when the navigation system is actually used then yes, access fees would be an issue but otherwise no more than using any phone GPS over an internet connection since the GPS co-ordinate information contains a small amount of data. Downloading the initial application might be more costly but there might be an option to download the application via computer and than transfer the map information locally via cable or Bluetooth.

<img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />... I don't (and i think i've mentioned this before) even have an active mobile phone or a sat nav for that matter, Melways does the job.

Not sure what the cost is Peter, but mobile Internet subscriptions are more costly mainly because plans do not include a great deal of bandwidth (MB in usage) and excess bandwidth becomes expensive.

I am interested in this too. If you get no response I bet the whirlpool forum will have some useful info.

My first commitment to the Australian people is to have internet 10 times faster than in Korea! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

My second commitment to the people of Australia is that I will not work on the weekend, even in a crisis! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' />

(No point having fast broadband if I cannot play some games online!)

OK Time to ramp it up with a third commitment

My third commitment to the people of Australia is that I will make it perfectly legal to carry butter knives. However if you are caught without butter you will be given an "on the spot" western star or devondale coupon for free butter samples!

EDIT: I had only eaten margarine for some time but recently had some butter. Oh my goodness it tasted good! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
