When They Tell You The Science Is In, It Never Is
Far as I know the industrialisation of civilisation did not commence 20,000 years ago - but then maybe I'm trying to sell facts here!

I have it on good authority industrialisation did start within the last 20,000 years.

Just checked my NBN speed: yep, it's there Wink

Even more to the point, no one said anything about 20,000 years.

I'm actually referring to that blue spike at the end of the graph within the Holocen era Smile

Refer away about your point - you miss the big point totally.

The current warming trend as shown on the graph began 20,000 years ago. It then shows a pretty stable pattern - with more data of course.

Industyrail development on a major scale started within the last 500 years.

Not rocket science here PZ.

Not being obtuse at all Aloy. That sounds like an elitist construct Wink

If you click on your graph and examine it properly you'll see a sharp increase in temps within the last few hundred years along with the rise of industrialisation. Is that a coincidence?

I look upon Co2 emissions as akin to smoking. It's bad for you but the sooner you quit the better off you are.

That's why Govts around the world are setting targets... creating more efficient industry.

It won't happen overnight but...

Scientists are starting to clear up one of the biggest controversies in climate science

Ok so this confirms the threads opening question - the science is never in as proclaimed by Al Gore not a climate scientist but a has been political hack.

That's indeed good news that in the body scientific there are controversies - generally caused by political folks running with the latest pro or anti postulations.

The more it goes on the more it looks like a political garnering of taxpayers dollars and a redistribution to the very folks who are doing the frightening.

Nice work if you can get it!!

BOM says global warming behind Northern Territory's hottest July on record

Mr Browning said last July's above-average temperatures were explained by a nearby El Nino, but this year's even warmer temperatures could not be explained in the same way.

"What is particularly interesting is last year we were coming out of a very strong El Nino, and typically in the follow up year to a strong El Nino we see these warm temperatures," he said.

"Whereas we aren't experiencing that post El Nino warmth this year; it's just a neutral climate state at the moment and we're still seeing these very warm temperatures."
