Moo's Poetry Corner
#1
To read about friendship is sweet devotion

To read about love is a powerful emotion

To read of passion opens your mind

To read of empathy is one of a kind

To read of evil, gives one a chill

To read of truth is always a thrill

But one of your own will make me smile

Settle down with a poem in Moo's corner for a while.

Hi all, this thread is all about poetry. Any poem, any style anything that comes to mind. Rhyming, non-rhyming, haiku, cinquain, lyric, limerick, sonnets, ballads, etc… The list is endless. Don't be shy. Join in and have fun.

Ok, ok... So you've heard one of my rhyming… Here's a non-rhyming. Enjoy.

Online Writer

You arrive daily with an invisible smile

I'm touched by your heart and soul

We type, we chat, we laugh, we learn.

My wise one, you are helpful

Earnest, with ardent eyes

Believing and trusting

Nurturing; even the lowest of hearts

Your joy is spread by your words

Speaking only positively

Blocking all my negative thoughts

You've shown me truth

Though it hurt

In one honest lesson

You taught me friendship

Love and passion

If you were on paper

You'd be my favourite book

Online writer, write with me

Fill my heart with words

And live the writer's love

Hello Peter

Did you just compose the "On Line Writer"? The On LIne Writer was written a while ago...

May I be bold and suggest a title?

"I Love This Tram"
Can I enquire, why Tram?

Searching each item for some sort of substance

"Sports legend, my foot!" Whispered one colleague to another.

"Sports legend, my foot!" Whispered one colleague to another.

Sue heard what was said and giggled to herself

She was just about to step out into London

Her life long dream was finally coming true

Other Olympians standing along side her smiling

Knowing these customs officers could only dream of such achievement.

An Italian Olympian winked at Sue as there eyes met

Was it the excitement of finally winning a gold medal

Or love for a man she had not said two words too

He recognised Sue as the pretty girl at Heathrow

Only then did she realise he was not alone

Hand in hand with him was a woman she knew instantly

She was the brilliant Russian two time gold medalist Gymnast

Sue turned and melted into the crowd thinking as she retreated

Dad and mum will be so proud of my gold.

"For Seven Years I Courted Mary."

Cosa n' pensa Mooie?

Ok, shall I start

"For Seven Years I Courted Mary."

Her black curls glowed under the moonlight

I look upon her, the same as I did the first day we met

What could she be thinking as she stared into the night?

HI Peter,

Are you ready for our Arm Wrestling Championship Match? Best of three rounds. Right arm then left = one round. Capisce? Understand completely, but I am quite weak these days, give me a few weeks to up the exercise regime and I'll be ready for the match. That is if you can handle battling against a gorgeous blonde. I mean a radiant redhead... Alright a boring brunettte. But I bet you still can't handle the heat. hahaha

Mary, do you know that tomorrow marks seven years to the day we met

Seven years of a beautiful loving courtship.

Does she remember the bumbling Richard of then, I wondered

Alas, she smiled at Rchard and nodded knowingly.

What was she feeling? Richard thought

Was her heart filled with joy and ready for a lifetime love?

Or could she be reminising about last summer's holiday.

Hi Mooie Mistress of all Poetry and Mysterious Dreams.

Yeah about the arm wrestle! Babe you can bulk up all you like it won't help when I apply the heat.

Sh** if you turn up as a blonde in a low cut thingo, I got no show, I'll be too busy oggling!
Fine... I wear a wig and buy a new outfit... But don't be upset if some 80 year old muscle man sweeps me away

A tough poem I feel I'm letting down the side! Nope, you are doing fine.

Mary was starting to worry about Richard's mood

There was something in his boyish blue eyes that troubled.

Richard's eyes were radiating a thought that Mary had never witnessed

And standing in the distance was a familia figure

She knew that it was time to face the truth.

I'm getting closer. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rundog.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rundog:' /> Hahaha, keep trying.

Oh quit whinging Peter... English-Sminglish... Just enjoy the fun, cheeky.

Ponder this statement: "Fine... I wear a wig and buy a new outfit... But don't be upset if some 80 year old muscle man sweeps me away."

Buy a new outfit! OK but no mention of wearing it? In fact no mention of wearing anything? Doh!
What do you have against the naked body anyway?

And what's this about 80 year old muscle man? Do I have to bat these away as well? Oh well a guy's gotta do what a guy's gotta do. And so you should... I mean chilvalry still exists, doesn't it? Um, er, oh, maybe I have to fight off all the 80yr old chickies... Hahahaha. Ok, time to invent a new word for Moo's dictionary.... 'Chivalret'

Enough rubbish woman let's see what you got down here. I mean the poem not . . . Hmmm!

Does he know why this person is approaching?

Perhaps that is why Richard is being so apprehensive

Mary senses their relationship is at that elusive point of no return

And looks away shamelessly.

Richard moves closer and places a hand on her shoulder...

"It's him my dear... It's the vicar" Then down on one knee.

He pops the long awaited question...
