Abc Bias
#41
You are doing it again!!!!

You appear to think that it's OK for the National Broadcaster only fronts up an ALP apologist as Current Affairs information.

Where is the other side of the equation?

How unsurprising that "opinion polls" are loaded one way when the information they base their "opinion" on is heavily influenced by a slanted ABC "opinion"

Popular opinion - my foot!

If the anti plebiscite brigade believed popular opinion then they would embrace the idea of a plebiscite.

So you think opinion polls are distorted by the ABC? Like really?

I know you didn't really mean what you just said then because you didn't even say Hello Tongue

Hello mon ami - hope you had a good w/e at work.

We are just off for a few days up the coast - get's you away from the phone!!

Re ABC and polls: I have no doubt at all about the power of the national broadcaster to influence public opinion.

Many lazy thinkers will adopt what is presented to them as fact by the box.

I imagine that you as an independent thinker would probably see this yourself - maybe in different areas to me - but nonetheless the national broadcaster is in a very powerful position in this regard.

For instance explain to the G&LBT community just how the ALP position in blocking a vote by the people does anything to advance their cause.

If the public opinion is as some surmise so keen to get this done why not accelerate the process and get it done?

Do I hear any anti ALP choruses from the ABC? Not really.

The best way to accelerate the process and get it done is legislate it in parliament, just like last time.

Yes, a plebiscite was an election promise. Yes, a Govt has backflipped before and it will do it again in future.

We just saw the Fed Govt heap praise on the NSW Govt for a monumental backflip on banning greyhound racing.

Scott Morrison thinks they deserve credit. So maybe they could use that initiative to follow suit with marriage equality and (IMO) increase their popularity and their status as a "Government" in the process.

I personally have heard a lot of anti ALP banter from the ABC and a lot of it actually came from Barrie Cassidy particularly during the Rudd/Gillard era which I think adds to my earlier claim that the ABC is happy to criticise any Govt no matter what colour their how to vote card is.

Enjoy your days off and watch out for strangers. Apparently we're in danger of being swamped by clowns so be careful how you juggle your holidays with work! lol

I have news for you Peter. The Australian Govt is also owned by all Australians, left, right, centre. Doesn't stop them remaining biased to conservative values.

∴ should we demand they become unbiased because we pay for them?

Y'know represent 100% of Aus and all that...lol

If the answer is "no" then ABC funding must be irrelevant despite it being an easy cop out for intolerant right wingers.

Liberal supporters will always assert the ABC is biased even if it's 100% staffed by Liberal supporters!

It's a fact of life around the western world in the 21st century. Same thing happens with the BBC.

That's a very very very very good question Smile

Hi Peter. The comment about me portraying ABC loving bias is a load of garbage.

I like the stuff about " sacrificial righties" and "decimating the Libs". Funny shit

Quote:I wouldnt be calling what happened in America this week Democracy, or the will of the people either

only one third of the people voted, and LESS than half of those voted for the winning candidate

dont know what they call it, but that isnt democracy

It is democracy - heavens, they have even the democratic right to not vote!!

What gives anyone the right to call something "not a democracy"? Surely a determining what democracy is is not an individuals role - it's the role of a democracy!! :Talking: :Talking:

All this under a democratic party run administration too!!!

The absolute unarguable truth is that americans didn't like Trump but the didn't like Clinton even more - and that's their considered opinion.

They don't trust entrenched elites including celebrity democrat acolytes , incompetent pollsters, and most of all they reject an opinionated press that is no better than "our ABC"

Frankly I don't blame them.

Just remember where ever the US goes, we will go in the next electoral cycle.

Apologists for the democrats should look at themselves - they chose an unelectable candidate - it's quite clear.

OK but it means nothing. It's not about how many people are from the ALP. It's the content that matters.

Ex ALP Micheal Costa appears on Bolt's program but that doesn't mean the show is biased to the ALP.

As these bias claims usually appear when the Coalition is in power the best thing to do is simply change the Govt Smile

THere you go - you are reinforcing my claims of Bias - the only real anti everyone commentator is Mr Bolt - and he most certainly does not work for the ABC - he has the wrong DNA
