Need To Meet New People!
#1
So I moved to Melbourne from NSW two and a bit years to go only to get into a relationship quite quickly. Now that we have broken up I realise that in all of that time I relied on him for company and didn't try to develop my own circles which I see now are severely lacking.

I'm 22, female, into lots of different things but really like reading, watching movies, seeing live gigs, catching up for coffee...anything really but please friendships only. If I sound interesting (actually after a re-read I sound very boring) reply here and hopefully we can see what happens next.

P.S. Maybe a group movie meeting would be good followed up with coffee after or something? I would be game...

Hey Sonia,

I just signed up for this thing then, so hopefully I'm doing it right! I moved to Melb from Sydney 3 months ago with my boyfriend. I've met a few of his friends who are nice, but would like my own friends! I am 29 so a bit older than you, so not sure if that would be an issue or not? Anywho I live kinda near the city and would be keen for a catch up.. as weird as it may seem! Haha! I guess you have to try these things! Let me know if you'd like to organise a catch up.

Hello Erin, age doesn't matter to me at all! I also read the other thread and I'm currently doing a diploma in community services before going onto 2 years of social working for a degree and then another 2 for a masters of teaching so similar career interests there. Just sent you a message <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Me too I'm thinking it might be a good idea to set something up for us all to meet in a group and get to know one another/form friendships within the next few weekends.

Hello All. I just singed up. Why? Cause I do have friends who are either A) are too serious in life to have any fun, <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' /> always have another agenda for meeting, C) forgot what i was going to add (just woke up).. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />.

Anyways, it just occurred to me last night that why not check out some chat rooms to find some people who like to go out and have some fun, like a movie, coffee (which I dont drink though) etc etc. I guess lets see how things proceed <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />.

Hi all, I'm 23 yr old female from NZ and moved over to Melbs about 8 months ago. Hasn't been as easy making new mates over here as I thought and I miss girl time! Would love to meet some new people and make some new friends.

Hi there,

I am a 23 year old female from Canada. I am here on a working holiday visa and am looking to broaden my social circle, and experience more of this city. My boyfriend and I made this move together just over 2 months ago and are now finding that we need to find some friends to have some time apart once in a while. I'm sure you get that.

I am interested in many of the things you have listed, and am always looking to try to new things.

If you are still interested in meeting people, and think I could be a good fit, then please don't hesitate to contact me further.

Hi Guys,

I'm keen to organize something, maybe during the week at night or next weekend? I'm not sure about peoples schedules.

Let's go for a movie and then for a drink afterwards. Who is interested?

I can do friday and 5pm sounds like a good starting time unless people need some more time to leave work and get to the city.

Oh no I can't do Friday off down the Great Ocean road for the weekend. What a shame.
