Ok people, this is the plan: Sunday the 27th of November, Hoyts Cinema in Melbourne Central at 6:15pm.

There a bunch of movies starting between 6:30pm and 7:30pm so we can pick one and then grab a drink before or after.

For easy identification I will be wearing a blue top and I have long dark brown hair.

Cya then! :-)

Hi I'd love to go see a movie with you girls and have a drink after. I've been forced to hang out with my boyfriends boring friends for too long, I need a change. I'm 24 years old, female and I would love to meet some new people so this sounds like just the thing. What movie do you want to see?

Hi Claire we have a meet up this Sunday at 6:15pm at Melbourne Central Hoyts if you're interested in coming along. Jess_W has planned it and due to a few movies starting at that time we thought we could all choose together when we get there. Hope to see you there <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Hi ladies, I'm 24yrs old and moved recently from South Africa, so keen to meet new friends and get a social circle going! Can be lonely so far from home! Is this event open to anyone?

Hey guys

Its good to see so many people keen on getting together. I hope you have a fun time on Sunday.

Another good way to make new friends is to find people with the same leisure and sporting interests as you. My boyfriend and I have built a social networking site for just that purpose so if you feel like finding some more friends why don't you have a look at it.

When we moved to Melbourne in 2004 we found it a bit daunting having to start finding friends and one of the best ways was through our hobbies. We even picked up some new hobbies along the way as there are so many things that you can do in or near Melbourne. Now we have a great circle of friends.

So if you are interested have a look at the site. Its easy to find as it is my user name.

Good luck finding new friends!

Hmm just joined this. I am not sure how to get my posts approved but I will turn up at Hoyts anyways and hopefully find you guys. Since I can't see my other post I assume it's not there.

So I am around the same age as most of you. I am 24 yrs old. New to Melbourne, moved here from Auckland. Been here for 5months. I am really keen to meet some friendly new people <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Cheers

Hi Shana, well what we did last time was give the address of the cinema we were meeting at and what time we would all be there so that anyone who was interested could come along. I have also gotten in contact with people privately with my facebook link and taken friendships from there which seems to be the easiest way <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Pssh you don't even talk at meetups! Only if you actually converse <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

Let's organise something early January when everyone's back from holidays.
