The Start Of A New Friendship
#1
Hello,

I'm a 24 years old Chinese girl who have just moved to Melbourne from Singapore.

Like many of you have mentioned in the other posts, it can get quite hard leaving all your friends back home and being here all alone, with no one to talk to and no one to hang out with.

As such, I would like to offer a friendship to any of you who might be interested. I can be your listening ear, shopping buddy, fitness buddy, chill out with you, find a job with you, or anything really. I'm open to ideas.

It does sound pretty weird to be forming friendships through the internet. It's my first time too, and I honestly don't know what to expect. But who knows, if I can become a friend to even just one person, it would be worth it. If nothing happens from this, well, at least I tried.

So come on, drop me a msg if you're interested, I promise I will reply as soon as I can.

To new friendships,

angeyy

Hi Angeyy,

I'm Peter and I'm 22. I was born in Australia but have a Singaporean friend that I've known for 4 years who's just recently arrived in Melbourne. Perhaps we could all meet for dinner/coffee or something?

Hi Peter, that sounds cool. Do you have Facebook?

Hello Kane. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

PS. I probably should have mentioned it earlier, but I prefer females to males. Not being sexist or anything, but you know how you always need a girls day out / guys night out kinda thing? So now, where are the girls??

Hi Angeyy,

Welcome to Melbourne! I'm not from Singapore but recently came back from a short trip there. I'm 25 and looking for female friends also. I live and work close to the city, would be great to chat further.

Hi angey!

I'm from Singapore as well and just arrived here in Melbourne last Saturday! I'm 20 this year and hope to make some friends around Melbourne. Classes just started and I'm still trying to get used to the culture here. Still in culture shock mode as of now and trying to adapt!

Leaving my family and friends behind can get so tough at times and I feel ya <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> You can email me at hovenessa@hotmail.com and we'll see where this friendship goes!

Cheers!
