Needing Some Genuine Friendship
#1
Hi I'm Sonia,

I've posted before and I've been living in Melbourne for 3 years; only just started looking for friends after my relationship broke down and although I've met some lovely girls I still haven't really connected with anyone. I'm looking for genuine long term (life term!) friendships with girls that enjoy films, intelligent discussions, are non-flakey on plans, like going for the occassional night out but also happy with a cook up at home and a good catch up and want a super fun/friendly, reliable friend who is always there for them! Now my relationship is back on track I've found its been really hard finding friends that meet these things are are looking to permanently settle in Melbourne. I can be really girly and enjoy shopping and a good high tea but I also like galleries, exhibitions, a good book and video games! This probably reads like something from e-harmony but I'm 23 and I think it's high time I find some super best girlfriends around my age that would like to meet up for a coffee soon.

P.S. I currently live in the western suburbs but I go to the city quite a bit.

Hey Sonia,

Your post sounds exactly like what I was just about to write up!

I'm keen to make some new female friends too - coffees, movies, shopping and just some good company in general sound great.

I'm 25 and live in the Bayside area but get into the city quite often too.

Hopefully a few more girls around our age reply too and maybe we could have a little meet up? <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Good luck, sheilas and blokes =) I'm looking for mates too..........it's risky to go a new place without knowing anyone. You can never trust that everything gets better by itself.

G'night :-) z z z z z z z z z

If I was 30 years younger it sounds like we could be best friends!

Good luck with your efforts here. I'm new to this site and just posted my own, similar ad. I moved to Melb from NSW 10 years ago and it took me almost that long to carve out a teeny social circle for events IF I made all the effort to organize EVERYTHING - which I did.

Then, in January I sold up and semi-retired to Frankston to be close to the water and it feels as though I'm starting all over again.

To all you young gals out there, I wish you many future fun times - if you think it's a challenge starting fresh in your 20's, you should try doing this in your mid 50's! Moving later in life is social suicide! But I'm ever hopefull.....

cheers

Vivian

Hi Sonia,

I also enjoy a lot of what you listed and am looking for genuine female friends. I come across as shy at first but do open up once comfortable.
