Thought I'd bring some Television and radio discussion in.

Digital TV now has extra channels in most major capital cities 7HD, 9HD, 10HD ect.
Anyone tried these new channels?

I bought a LCD widescreen earlier in the year and so far so good except that loser Channel Nine I can't watch any of their shows in HD because thay ain't got their bleetin subtitles working! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

I have trouble with 7HD which causes me grief because I like watching the v8 supercars.
Hopefully 7-analogue will stay on for a while longer.

Apparently when the analog services are switched off, they can bump up the power output of the digital services
Hopefully that will be the answer to your problems.

Because as it is now I'm working when the telecast is on so I don't see the results until I get home and then it's too late for me to do anything about it.

When the DTV STBs were first introduced, all the cheaper STBs didn't have the CC feature. They expected those who required the feature to fork out well over $1k for the "top-of-the range" model.
I was so furious at the time, I wrote a number of complaints to the Telecommunications Authority demanding that the CC feature should be mandatory for all STBs.

Yes I feel that I'm in a bit of a "straightjacket" over at Whirlpool.. don't get me wrong I've learnt a lot from there, and had a number of problems resolved by some kind folk who knew what they were talking about.
And, I have gone there from time to time check out the latest status reports by Caniffe..
Anyway its been awhile since I have contributed to Whirlpool, and I have forgotten my logon details,,,, I can't be bothered opening a new account over there, considering the "tight rein" they have.

My TV has the inbuilt HD tuner and the CC are working on all the channels except NineHD so I gota watch their stuff in SD if I wanna understand what's happening. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Mine died a couple months back it was a good Li'l toy I could record shows with the subtitles onto DVD and the subtitles were the type yer could make a wee bit see-through so it doesn't block half the screen when yer watching Girls Of The Playboy Mansion <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

I'm thinkin of buying a HD STB so then I can record the extra content that is on HD channels onto DVD there's probably nae point getting a SD STB anymore?
