Must admit its been many many moons since I've actually stayed in Melbourne.
I have frequently passed through the airport over the years.
And, I must say its my favourite airport.
I like how the Hilton is in walking distance, and I usually try to make the transfer around lunchtime. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='  ' />
A friend from Sydney is moving down there next month so it gives me an excuse to arrange an extended stay.
Can anyone recommend a decent cafe? <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='  ' />

What we were trying to find out was whether it would mix any of the HD audio formats(ie DD+ TrueHD, DTS-HDMA) like the HD DVD players do, or will it only mix using DD, DTS etc
Does the PS3 allow you to check what audio codecs are being used while using PIP? similar to checking with the 'display' button on the XE1 how it shows the main, sub, and effects tracks that are being mixed.

Ok here's what I found, and I need to talk to Mo and check I'm doing it right.
I used the new Rambo movie as it's the only 7.1 HD MA disc I have.
Playing the movie, no PIP or anything, it shows up on the 3800 as 7.1 ch although the 3800 has glitch with 5.1 HD MA being bitstreamed to it where it shows up as 7.1, but there was sound from the rears and the on screen display for the PS3 shows it as 7.1 DTS HD MA. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=' ' />

Did you try it with the PS3 set to output multichannel PCM?
Also can you check what tracks are actually being mixed?

Ok I didn't word that quite right, :lol: I definitely wasn't bitstreaming the PS3 still can't do it for HD MA, it was outputting PCM
I'm not sure how to check what tracks are being mixed.
