Just go get one - you know it makes sense - then being old and forgetful - you will get a nice surprise when you get it home.

Arnie Corman calls Electricity an economic girly man, and the ALp spring into attack mode - thus dignifying a joke.

It's good to see the Federal Govt doing their best to sabotage the Libs' chances in the upcoming state election.

Increase the GST, increase the fuel tax, right on cue, thanks guys! [Image: im%20Not%20Worthy.gif]

Victoria?

IIRC the incumbents have very little chance of winning, so might as well end their reign and use the money raised to fight some war on terrorism...

Nah, it's not a back door tax... And not a new tax at that. Just re-indexing an old tax. And they have a mandate for it..

Funny how income tax don't follow that indexation huh? That's libs Smile...

Why do people think that the feds are going to increase the GST ?

That claim comes from the opposition, the very folks that raised several new taxes and actually modeled raising GST when in government.

Hello, does it scan

I guess folks believe fairy stories even today!

Hey Aloy, out of curiousity, and regardless of who does it, would you support the GST going to 15% ?

A better way for the Libs to do it is to review the excemption list.. That real grab will be higher than a 15% GST hike...

Can't blame 'em to be honest, headline figures is what's governing Australia these days.. Without raising taxes covertly, inflation is going to tank, libs can't have that... They do best in tanking the real economy, but have good numbers to prove it's not the case.

Not really mate - I prefer reducing spending as an option.

Maybe myrantz option of limiting exception has some merit. But it's still increasing tax take. If you look at the latest scare it seems that good old bracket creep will increase taxes paid too.

The more tax they take the more they will spend and not all of it will benefit taxpayers.

Heavens the last 6 years they spent heaps more than they taxed imagine if the revenue had been greater!

"Bill Shorten's leadership tottering after 'let's have ideas' gaffe"

"THE left-wing media, exemplified by the Fairfax press and its allies at the vastly over-staffed, taxpayer-funded ABC, have been so obsessed with Tony Abbott’s prime ministership that it has totally overlooked the demonstrable inadequacies of Opposition Leader Bill Shorten and state Labor leaders Daniel Andrews, Anastacia Palaszczuk and Luke Foley."

Hi Peter. Can I offer a correction to your last sentence by saying when the issue is a GOVERNMENT flaw the reporting is either mocking or hysterical?

Because that's how it was during the Rudd/Gillard years particularly with Peter Reith as a regular ABC commentator.

So why should it be any different today? After all it's the Government that's supposed to be running the country, yes?
