Hi again. Well I've come to Melbourne to study post grad(medical sciences) and work. Lived the the UK for the last two years and travelling....but am from NZ.
Enjoy all sorts of things...going to museums, to see some good art, photography, cafes, outdoorsie things, movies, walks, beaches, parks, a bit of everything really hehe.
Don't know many people in Melbourne and have only been here a week so would be great to meet some open-minded down to earth people who are into similar things <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':gathering:' />

Welcome to Melbourne Chat, Verity.
The docklands is a fairly bustling area of Melbourne that should present plenty of opportunities to make local friends too.
Naww, i'm so sorry to hear that Verity. It's extremely hard but it will get easier. I actually found the lifestyle changes the hardest part - but now almost 6 months on they are the MOST rewarding aspect! You'll find a whole new freedom. I hope it wasn't too much of a messy breakup =(
We'll try and organise a coffee meet when you're here! =) We're FAR overdue for one already!
Sounds good! Yeah, it was very messy - it happened 2 years ago so I'm well and truly over it, but I have only just managed to cut ties (we owned a house together) so now i can really move on and start doing what I want to do. Its so exciting... Hope yours wasn't too traumatic.... although you sound like you are doing great now; well done!

omg ... 2 years ado and you have only JUST cut ties ... one of the relieving parts to my breakup was we had no assets or children together and were not as yet married so it was nice and easy to break away and i feel so much better for it all happening now.
I am indeed! I'm living life and loving life more than ever.
Feel free to add me on msn if you wish - i think it may be on my profile somewhere ... else feel free to PM me anytime =)

Sure, why not? I do love coffee and we drink way too damn much of it back home in Seattle. You name the place and a time after 4 if possible because I am busy until then. I have just recently arrived in Melbourne so this would be fine and fun.

Hi,
I am from India and have been in Melbourne for a while.
Most of my friends have moved back to India or have been partnered off, so I am trying to make some new friends to hang out with.
The coffee idea sounds great?
Do we have a location?
