My adviser recommended getting out of my mining shares last December and moving into bonds and cash.

I reckon that he saved me heaps!

Bear etf (obvious result) and KMD (consolidation and target for hostile takeovers.)

Bank shares went down but as a day trader I ended up in front overall.

Have you done OK this year?

Yes, but only because I didn't start investing locally until after these crashes of late.

Prior to that it was mostly US affiliated etf's.

I should self manage my super, but it requires a fair bit of non productive compliance so if I went ahead with it I would go with etf's and just leave it at that.

It's a bear ETF versus an ASX200 ETF (the red line)

A bear etf is effectively an antithesis of the market. If the market goes down the etf goes up and vice versa.

What was good about yesterday is the market was quite volatile and I was able to buy/sell both etf's 6 times in one day for a good net profit despite the market going down slightly.

Today will be a good example of how to make money in a falling market (today will fall around 1% at start of trade)

I'll post it again this arvo Smile

Nefarious edit alert... I bought this thing @ $26.38 yesterday and sold it for $26.86 today... bootyfull lol

So.... the day started off with a 2.5% gain for the bear etf even though the market had crashed in early trade.

I'll give that a 5 wood :o

Just for a laugh... the stock code SCU went from .013c two weeks ago to $1.08 this morning meaning if you bought it for $13k you would've made 1 million dollars profit in two weeks. LOL

This 39-year old sold everything he had for bitcoin: house, car and children's toys - now he lives on a campsite waiting for the ultimate cryptoboom

https://www.businessinsider.com.au/this-...om-2017-10

That was reported on Nov 2 when Bitcoin was around $6000.

It's now worth over $16000 :O
