Advice For Newcomers To Melbourne
#1
Hi,

I'm sure this is the question asked all the time, however I dont see any recent posts/responses regarding this.

My girlfriend and I are moving to Melbourne in January 2011. Employement are providing accomodation for 4 weeks. In this time as well as working we need to find a place to live... rented.

Looking online and on here I can see that prices for rent seem very high (from the recent property boom), are there any places to 'watch out for' (dont go) and any that you could recommend for a young couple to look at?

Any help/advise would be much appreciated.

Also do you know off hand which are the best shipping companies to bring all my worldly good across....safely? :-)

Thanks

Dave

Hi dave

mate it depends what will you be doing in melbourne

if you prefer to live close to the city you need to pay a bit but save on transport and time.

if you want a cheap place to live go to craigeburn or roxburg park.

if you want a place not too far from the city and not too expensive go to Glenroy, should be the best and most recommended.
