It is truly amazing when you realise that the place you enjoy living in now, housed some truly amazing people in history. William John Symons is a case in point (see [url="http://www.flickr.com/photos/burchett_street/5199401671/in/photostream/"]http://www.flickr.com/photos/burchett_street/5199401671/in/photostream/[/url] . William Symons was awarded the Victoria Cross for his bravery at Gallipoli during World War I. I was wondering whether anyone else in Melbourne has researched the history of their house or suburb and found out something interesting. There must be some fascinating stories out there.
