aww man, i'm sorry, perhaps we should meet at a smaller venue next time. In fed square, there's a pretty cool pub called Transport Hotel. Perhaps a new venue meetup?

Hey Everyone,

I am a 24 year old dude looking at finding some new people to hang with. I am born and bred in Melbourne so am happy to catch up with some laid back people and show them a little bit around this great city.

I am keen to meet some new people to add some excitement to my weekends i recently broke up with the ex missus and looking forward to getting back out into the bars and clubs again. I see you guys have tried to organise a catch up happy to be involved in the next one and maybe my little bit of melbourne expertise can help kick start a fun night out.

Hi - I'm in the outer NE suburbs and in a similar position. Been here a year and a half and yet to really make friends (mostly time and, yes, I admit I could have made more effort). I'm interested in hearing from anyone in a similar position but looks like it might take a while to get my posts approved? Anyway - when it happens, I'm in :-)

Hey everyone!

Brand new to this site. I have been in Melbourne a few months now and looking forward to making some new friends. I'm 25 and over here from the UK (but please don't hold that against me) <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

Always up for exploring new sights, restaurants and bars.

If you are happy to have a POM along I should be able to make lunch on Saturday. Look forward to hopefully meeting you all.

Cheers,

Dan.

It is really hard to randomly find some 'friends' in the new place. But if you get some sort of bravery, go out and talk to people, there is two options. They'll think that you're creazy, or they fall out with you.

Personally I love idea of making friends in the web and make some sort of meetings. For secure reasons, not one to one meeting, but like a groups. For example Melbourne Chat meeting. This is really simple way to make friends and get to know with many people. Unfortunately the easiest way, such as making friends in school, is kind of not acceptable for people 20 years old or over... But yeah, just organize some meeting via forum. Pub or something <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Sorry if some people couldn't understand me in some point. I'm kind of Polish guy leaving for 5 years in the UK, so...

I'm happy with any of the locations just mentioned and noon is good for me. Who else is in?

Also there is a small crowd of us getting together for drinks on Saturday evening, either in the CBD or on Southbank, anyone is welcome to join us.

Feel free to add me on FB people and drop me a personal message, www.facebook.com/danball123

OK, here's a few I looked up so far,

Pellegrini Espresso Bar: 66 Bourke St in Melbourne CBD

Shanghai Village 112 Lt Bourke St, Melbourne CBD (we should book for this place if interested)

Never been to either so have no idea what it's like.

Feel free to suggest places.
