Looking For Male Or Female Friends In Elwood / St Kilda Area
#1
Hi Everyone, I'm a Canadian who's been in Australia for a copule of years now. We live in St Kilda (my wife and I) and I'm on the search for building some new friendships, hopefully in the area. While I have some great friends here, none are close enough to call up to go for a bite to eat or a drink without significant planning. Me, i'm a 35 yo guy. I'm happily married and only looking for friends. I like relaxed activities and good conversations. I'd rather go out for something to eat, go for a walk, or have a drink in a quiet loung than do something really active. I'm not a macho type of guy. I'm not really interested in sports or proving how masculine I am <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />. So if you're the type who likes a good long conversation, enjoyes the process of getting to know someone, and likes a friend who is a good listener, is opening minded, and has a good sense of humour, drop me a line and lets chat over email and see what happens.

Hi there!. Quite a coincidence...My husband & I moved from Canada to the St Kilda area a few months ago!! Maybe we would have something else in common too??...haha. We are easy going, and are looking to develop some friendships here in Melbourne...would be interested in drinks, dinner, movies/shows, some low key sports/activities. Feel free to email me at e_eichler@hotmail.com if you'd be interested in getting together for a chat & drink <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Glad I found this thread. My wife and I are from Vancouver and moved to St Kilda about 11 months ago. We would love to meet up for drinks and make a few friends in the neighbourhood. I work in the sports industry so am a little busier for the next two months, but definitely looking for more socializing and activities coming out of winter.

Vancouver is one of the cities I lived in for a few years while I was away from Australia. Recently got back <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> How you liking Van compared to Melbourne? I found both cities to be very similar. But for me because im not into hiking and stuff melbourne has more to do.

Yes, I've definitely found Melbourne and Vancouver to be very similar. Melbourne is a lot larger so has more choices of urban type things to do - restaurants, festivals, concerts, sport, etc. But Vancouver probably has a better spread of outdoor things to do. Plus, the weather is relatively similar (rather than comparing Vancouver to Brisbane or Sydney) so it's been a pretty smooth transition.
