Mature Gal Wanting To Make Female Friends- Frankston/peninsula Area.
#1
Hi

<img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Rose.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':Rose:' /> I'm a 55yrs young woman, who is new to Frankston.

I read some of the posts here with interest and found myself nodding in agreement with one young lass who said that she was jealous of the Sex In The City gals. I hear ya. I had a wonderful bunch of female "sisters" (in NSW) for shared days on the beach with our kidlettes, lunches, natters, trips to the gym etc., but sadly, over the years we slowly dispersed. And then I "dispersed" even further by moving interstate....

If relocating in your mid-40's is social suicide (and it is!) you should try relocating in your mid 50's. After 9 years in Bayswater, with all the kids grown and making their own way in the world, I sold the house and down-sized in Frankston. This was my semi-retirement plan, so I could drop back to part-time work and be near the water again. Come on, Summer ...

There seems to be so much to do in and around the Peninsula and it all sounds like so much fun - but of course, it's not so fun on your own. It takes real bravery to walk into a place on your own, but it's not ideal, is it? I have many and varied interests including live music, arty events, markets, shopping (clothes and shoes - not food!) followed by leisurely lunches and lots of great coffee, and a bit of local exploring and of course nattering. Am a bit arty/musical at times myself when the mood takes me.

If any of what I've written strikes a chord and you'd like to meet up for coffee ... I would be tickled PINK!

Thanks for reading all the way to the end, and here's to (hopefully) the start of some genuine friendships!

Cheers

Vivian

Hi Viv, I relocated to Frankston South from country Vic (Beach!) and am currently finalising my divorce. So I find myself in your situation, lacking someone to do local things with. My friends have all moved to different places (like me) and I would love to find some new friends to do activities, lunch, coffee, with. I like to go to galleries, see bands, movies, explore the peninsula, go to markets etc. Anything really. I'm 39 and have a school aged daughter, but get along with all ages/ types of people.

If you get this response & are interested, or if anyone else out there reading this could use a new female friend that's easygoing, friendly & kind, drop me a line <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Hi Pip

I found a fantastic website called MeetUp.com - frankly, I got tired of waiting for responses on this site!

It's a site where every/anyone in the Melb metro area can make up a group and suggest activites, or simply

join up as a member, RSVP to the advertised activities, and attend one of their events.

Have a browse and if anything interests you, click "join" and it will ask you to submit a very brief profile.

It's too easy.

I belong to a few local ones that you may be interested in (see links, below). Take a browse! I've been to

two great brunches (in Frankston), and going on the Sorrento Ghost Tour this Saturday! I've already (in just a few

weeks) gathered up a small handful of gals and we're having coffee on Friday with a view of making it a regular

thing, and inviting more to join us in the future.

Also - another gal contacted me through this site and we're having brunch tomorrow (Thursday) - she's closer to

your age. Not that it matters! Only my body is 55.... the brain is forever 30 <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/biggrin.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Big Grin' />

Hope you find these links as useful as I did! .... or contact me direct vivimack56@hotmail.com.

Bye for now

Viv
