Transport In Melbourne
#1
As a tourist, how will be the best way to get around the city when I visit? I want to visit quite a few venues including china town, Bourke Street, & a few surberbs (fitzroy) where I have friends living.

hi visitor!

the best way to get to those places in and around melbourne to buy a zone 1 tram ticket and follow the map below! the tram ticket will cost you (at the moment) $6.10 for a daily ticket.

you can get more info at the following websites:

you can use the trams for most of the inner city areas and then there are trains and buses for most other areas.

the closer you are to the city, the more choice you have for public transport!

in melbourne city there is also a train loop under the city in a underground tunnel. that is also used by city people to move around. they move quite fast. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

hope you a great time when you get to melbourne,
