Hi everyone,

Anyone seen any good music shows lately? <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Did anyone catch DJ Shadow?

The wife and i went to the Chelsea Heights hotel on Saturday

and saw Mental As Anything <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blink.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> .

How we got there is a story in itself.

We had dinner there last week and it was crap,

the wife emailed a complaint. We ended up getting two tickets and a $50 voucher.

So on Saturday night we had dinner and watched the Saints Pies game, had a few drinks

and walked out our back gate through the wetlands to the pub a eight minute walk.

Anyway because it was so busy the barman turned our voucher into $50 cash,we had

a few drinks and walked out with more money <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Money Eyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> in our pockets than what we had when we went in.What a band the mentals are/were,we thought it might be a bit tragic.

But what a surprise i have forgotten how many hits they had <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/im Not Worthy.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> it was a great night <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Party.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

followed by 16 minute stagger home <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sports.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> Free drinks <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piwo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> great music (from our youth a long time ago in a galaxy... you know how it goes)

Hey paul! That sounds really good! I have driven past that Chelsea Heights place but never went inside. I like that glass dome thing they have. Did it have palm trees inside? At least I think that is how I remember it.

Glen, yes thats the one.It has palm trees inside the dome.

We call it the fishbowl.Have you ever been inside a big dome or even a room with

convex /domed ceiling? The acoustics are amazing, you can hear other peoples

voices coming out of nowhere. It's as if they are right next to you when they are no where near you. It's practically eaves dropping. So be careful with what you say.

hahaha. No I have not been in such a place before! Could be fun! But I will try and not laugh if I hear a funny conversation as they will probably hear me and come find me!!!! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I saw David Byrne(ex Talking Heads)at Hamer hall earlier this month.

As far as gigs go it was ok.He did 5 encores and not a talking heads song in them.

Her did play some through the show, but to do so many encores and play obscure stuff(to me that is)

was rather poor.

Lots of pots <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piwo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> ,sunny weather and good music.

Plus a 10 min walk stagger to where we were staying <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/thumbsup2.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':th' />

hi paul, <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/gathering.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

it's been a while.

last concert i went to was missy higgins, i'm not a huge fan

but she can sing well great concert.

but the stories she had behind the songs she wrote

were sad <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Cry.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':Bat:' /> .

i'm sure he they had ropes for sale, they would have sold like hot cakes. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Whistle.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

they are touring with The Galvatrons and slow down honey... <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Peace.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

awesome night all 3 bands sound great...i would go back again. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dance.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

only let down all age concert (16 and over) and 3 fights broke out while something with numbers was on playing

and yes they were all young...
