Any Good Inexpensive Restaurants?

i was going to take my mother to melbourne for a few days some time later this year and was wondering about where to take her for dinner. my problem is that, although i don't mind paying out a bit of money for a good meal, my mother thinks that once the price gets into double figures, it's too expensive. i know that's an unrealistic attitude, but the last time i tried to take her to a restaurant where the main courses were $25 and up, she wouldn't go in. can anyone suggest good inexpensive places to eat (and i'm afraid that indian and asian cuisines are out - although i might see if i can get her to go to a thai restaurant....)



oh, yes - i should also mention that pubs are out too!



don't know where we'll be staying yet, but it'll probably be close to the cbd.

You could try the Crown Casino complex, heaps of good places in there. Prices are good too.

Failing that, most of the other good ones I've found are in Collins st,

there was one opposite the "Hard Rock Cafe" , can't remember the name of it but it was cheaper than most. (Although that was for steak and chips).

you could try sofia's pizza? their mains range from about 12 dollars upwards. a chicken parma was about $16.50 from memory. but the prices may vary from store to store i guess. i went to the one in wheelers hill. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
