Eye Catching Headlines What Grab Your Fancy

Australian cricket coach Darren Lehmann rejects Michael Clarke's claim he wanted power over team
Aaaaaaaaaaaah so many problems with so many other folks - it appears that Mr Clarke was a poor choice of captain  as I thought at the time - but I didn't know why - aaah - time, it yields all sorts of treasures.

US election: Canada immigration website crashes as Donald Trump takes lead in White House race

Canada's main immigration website has appeared to repeatedly crash as United States Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump took the lead ahead of Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the race for the White House.

Users reported seeing an internal server error message when trying to access the website.

"There is a problem with the resource you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed," the message stated.

The website's problems were noted by many on Twitter, with some saying maybe some Americans were serious when they threatened they would move to Canada if Mr Trump became successful in his campaign.

Earlier this year, the island of Cape Breton on Canada's Atlantic coast marketed itself as a tranquil refuge for Americans seeking to escape should Mr Trump capture the White House.

Officials for the Canadian ministry could not immediately be reached for comment.

Aah PZ, you must be a top chap.

You defend the ABC,the ALP, the Democrats.

Aloy, I don't know what any of this has to do with the ABC

I don't need to defend the ALP and I know zip about the Democrats. I don't even like Hillary Clinton.

Obama has good stats by turning the economy around and winning two elections so it's hardly a flop.

However someone will need to defend Donald Trump and the Liberal Party over the next 3 years as their failures continue to surface and the voters realise they've been duped.

Feel free to put your hand up Tongue

A NINE-YEAR-OLD Muslim girl from Melbourne has written a heartbreaking essay about America’s President-elect Donald Trump, who she said is a “really mean, racist person”.

So  where did this dear little kid get that message from?

I guess she hasn't met Mr TRump.

I guess she has been told what a bad person Mr Trump is by someone who has never met Mr Trump

I guess a nine year old would believe almost anything they were told.

I guess this headline means 4/5 of 5/8 of sweet FA.

Garbage served up as news is still garbage.

And you know, there will be folks who will shake their heads and believe what the nine year old said - hey it's heartbreaking - gotta be da troof init?

I dunno where people get the idea Obama is black?
At best he is half black.
But considering he was raised in a white family he gotta be more than half white.
His wife (the real pres) seems to be all black.
So I guess one could say the presidency is black(ish).
Well I was responding to a comment that said "The first black pres flopped".

I think history will be kind to Obama in the long term given the GFC and the shock waves that followed it.

I think that your postulation that this little black duck fell for any kind of propaganda would take some proving.

If anyone thinks for one moment that young people cannot be sucked in by teachers they should try talking to them.

They might also consider the output of the madrassas.

Just don't expect an independent person to be in the least impressed by the juvenile regurgitation of ALP/US press propaganda.

Men apply for energy jobs marked for women

You've got to have balls to apply for a job advertised only for women.

More than 100 men have handed in their resumes for the positions of five trainee operators and five apprentices advertised strictly for women at EnergyAustralia's Yallourn power station in Victoria.

EnergyAustralia executive Mark Collette told a Senate committee on Wednesday they were hoping to increase their diversity and employ their first female operators and apprentices at the plant.

But when asked how many men had applied for the job, Mr Collette was honest.

"Over 100 so far," he said.

The jobs are still being finalised, but Mr Collette said in total more than 500 people had applied for the five female operator roles, with a couple of hundred more for the apprentice roles.

The company says half of the senior management team is female and many fill a variety of operational roles across the power station, but none work as plant operators or apprentices.

Gracious it's amazing - reverse discrimination is OK!!

And here we were thinking that discrimination on the basis of gender, religion, ethnicity, age, race, etc etc was bad/illegal etc. I think we need an 18C clause in there!!
