Hi Glen <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rainbow:' />

Unfortunately I can't help you with your query as I don't live in Melbourne (unfortunately <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Sad' /> ) but by reading your message I was overwhelmed by nostalgia. I remember when I was in Melbourne, I bought some wonderful cheese pies from a bakery in Balaclava str. in St Kilda where I stayed. These chese pies reminded me of those of my grandmother's a long time ago.

regards

Yes, they used to be my favourite breakfast, together with a glass of fruit juice and a glass of turkish coffee with milk <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/Cuppa.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':rainbow:' />

Ah, Peter <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> What you reminded me of, this time!!! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' /> I used to buy some very tasty apple muffins at a jewish bakery in Balaclava str. in St Kilda in Melbourne. Very particular taste. I haven't been able to find something similar here in Athens.

Hi Peter <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

Thank you very much for your tempting invitations. Hard to resist, really <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' /> I would take these cake and hamburber excursions with pleasure <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piwo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Wink' /> . I think McCafes have already existed for a long time. I remember one in the airport in Athens when I still worked there. I also remember one in the transit area of the airport in Singapore were I had to stay for 3 days when I was flying back from Melbourne to Athens with a staff ticket and no available seat could be found on a flight to London in March 2007. Unless we are talking about different things

I am happy to hear we are not the worst in stripping tourists. I have seen it happening many times, in Tourkolimano, in my area in Piraeus where I live. Tourkolimano (modern name Mikrolimano) is a marina with posh fish taverans, a tradition to have fish here. Also in Rhodes, a very touristic island. Very nice indeed to visit as long as you know how to protect yourself from waiters.

I'm really looking forward to those apple muffins in Melbourne together <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':Rose:' />

friendly regards

Hi Peter <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

I don't remember having seen McCafe in London either, but that may be due to the fact that McDonalds hasn't been very successful in Greece as it is far away from it's culture. There are other fast food reastaurants that I'd choose if I had to choose a fast food. In July 2008 I was in Scontald and I enjoyed very much a chinese fast food in Stirling where we stayed. Of course I'm a fan of chinese food - as well as other orientlal dishes <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

I have never been on the wheele in London as I have a phobia with height. I would have died up there I think if I were. But I know the place.
