A New Labor Government
#21
I think the issue is the end effect on consumers.

Sydney airport was privatised 10 odd years ago and has become the rip off capital of the country despite paying no tax. For example a train ticket from Panthers station to Mascot is around $5 but then increases to $17 to enter domestic terminal. They did it because they can.

Apply that free market scenario to public transport and utilities and you have a lot of uncertainty in the community.

Can't comment on the asset leasing though as I'm not aware of the terms etc.

It's called a station access fee... 13 very unlucky odd dollars is added to your trip.

So here's the deal - I could train travel on a Sunday for $2.50 capped, if I get off at the airport it becomes $15.50

Rip off.

Queenslands new labor government is really showing us what is important:

Same sex marriage

Watering down anti bikie laws

Watering down the gains in the health system

Yep we got what we deserve.

It's also a bad idea equating easy with appropriate.

Someone once said the "Life was not meant to be easy"

Meanwhile NSW appears to have rejected the idea of a "new Labor government"

And here was me thinking that NSW voters were poorly informed - aah well, I guess PZ kept his word - as one would expect!

Hehe let's not confuse IQ with voting intentions  :LMAO:

The Libs are far better in NSW than in Vic and the ALP are worse.

It's as simple as that Smile

"Easter Sunday is no ordinary Sunday and if you work that day then you ought to be appropriately compensated for it"

Well done Dan the Man Smile

It's a communally accepted day off.

IMO it should have never been just another Sunday, let alone a working day.

For the record, most Christians I know reject the concept of Christmas day but that's still a day off.

Any attempts to devalue our social life by making either a working day is Un-Australian in my view.
