Quote:Pauline H did not go far enough!

She should have walked up to the speaker and opened her black coat to expose:

BANG,

YOU ARE ALL DEAD!

What then the sooky senator.
You can't get served at a servo wearing a m/cycle helmet but you can in a birka!

Go figure!

Just got back from a tour of Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria and Romania.

Learnings:
  • It takes a long time to recover from 40 years of communist government
  • Entrenched corruption takes even longer
  • ex communist governed people appear to be strongly attached to their christian faith - Orthodox or Catholic.
  • Changing currency every two or three days is a bit tiresome.
  • Cyrillic alphabet makes it really difficult to imagine what the words mean!
  • The high ideals of communism appear to be quickly forgotten when they are in power - power is the important word here.
  • There are good folks everywhere you go

If you read about the Romanian experience with Mr Ceaucescu you find that a real dullard came to power by accident.

As I pondered this I thought to myself - "You know if we had a properly left wing government in Oz a la Romania in the Communist years - the guys in power would not be the ALP and the BS types it would be the CFMEU bully boys - they know all about power."

What happens if the patient can't communicate?

I wouldn't want to be kept alive if I was dying in agony from a terminal condition.

It's akin to torture in my view.

In my view there are excellent palliative care treatments that pretty much remove the agony bit.

It's going to be a very strange Govt... something like a Gillard Govt wannabee in coalition with a Trump wannabe.

You got the part about strange right - just like Julia , Jacinta will be hostage to a raging madman power broker with a RS track record - Hey New Zealand that's what you voted for - one way or the other.

Remember Oakshott and Windsor? The public did and flushed them away

Essentially the voters have sidelined themselves giving the power to determine government to one man with 9% of the vote!

Wacky system that makes ours look positively pristine - which it ain't!!

I'm all in cash - the best place to be I reckon.

Is this a world recession you predict?

Are the US raising interest rates?

Does that support the prediction?

Yep. Pretty much.

Similar indicators of ten years ago are emerging.

Bloated markets, rates making debt unserviceable, and one curious thing that repeats itself - oil prices going up prior to the "event".

So yep, cash, gold and BBOZ Big Grin

The Liberals have won that seat - so they must have been dopey.

If Labor had won the seat the voters would still be sensible.

If One Nation had won the seat the voters would still be sensible

If the Greens had won the seat the voters would still be sensible

Anyone who understands democracy understands this.

The majority is always right.
