hi petersj, feel free to talk up the science. I actually was a scientist! I majored in chemistry though I have forgotten most of what I learned!
Of course it is very much like the days when a few scientists believed smoking was perfectly safe despite the evidence.
What?... Peter, haven't you heard? Smoking is good for you: http://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/wellbeing/...00329-r8el.html

Peter, ABC's The Hungry Beast (the most recent episode) put together a hilarious skit on Kevin's spin department, quality funny.
Why?
Cos he is so damn content with his slow slow internet connection, that he would say: "Hey good buddies that's what we will stay at and I'll pocket the change."
<img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/LMAO.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />

Speed is overrated. I miss the good ol' days of dial up <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' /> HAHAHA
Come on Iblis!
Show a bit of emotion, you are an actor for goodness sake! ... Peggy Lee! Well one of my other favourites is Sinatra singing "The way you look Tonight".
I'm not an "actor" per se. Anyway, what lack of emotion? I was rolling on the floor laughing, a very emotional act.

Here is something classic for the Peterses...

I'm still not sure i'm voting Labour (voted Rudd at the last election)... might vote Greens for a laugh... i'm really silly 'cause i'm actually a progressive.
Peter, you're voting Libs, right?
Well then are you going to send a "smilie" to do your next audition?
I'll actually (planning to anyway) be auditioning in a couple of weeks for a play titled "The Women in Black" probably out of my league 'cause the play only has three roles, two women and a man. The only thing i have going for me is that the play is dark and i'm a morbid fella.

Oh... i though you were being sarcastic about the left leaning, Peter J.
02-04-2010, 03:07 PM
I sorta like sarcasm, the surliness of the tone.
02-04-2010, 08:07 PM
No, not greens (i'm just frustrated and want change, all this change talk has rubbed off on me)... probably Rudd again. He is just doing to good a job at the minute. ...and besides, Abbott irks me to no end (i just want to slap him, not punch but open palm slap the man).

I have to look that one up in the dictionary!
torpor - Being inactive or stuporous; A state of apathy or lethargy
03-04-2010, 06:42 AM
I had to look up "torpor" too, the definition made mention of "having lack of energy", can't really label an ironman as torpid, 'cept maybe after the fact.
03-04-2010, 01:18 PM
peter! i am off to the dictionary again!
OK i am back: Stuporous - having slow or confused reactions, as if in a stupor; groggy
03-04-2010, 01:25 PM
I meant torpor seems to be the state of T Abbot when he is answering questions or debating.
That's just Abbott being really really calculated.

Yeah, i might be giving Abbott to much credit.
You're really coming out with some obscure words today, Peter. I had to, not only, look up effete but also check the pronunciation on the word (eh-feet). ....and FYI, Beasley is to busy in an Australian Embassy somewhere in D.C. to be running for government. |
