Bill Shorten Wants To Tax High Income Superannuants.
#21
It's a mistake to let the "really rich people" and their actions, spoil what is a very good thing for a huge number of people.

The idea was basically a Keating initiative that was made more appealing by  Costello - and the results are great - until some hungry mob decides they can hijack other folks savings.

Hi Peter.

As this is a discussion forum where all and sundry can post their viewpoint it goes without saying that every comment posted here is nothing more than conjecture or at best subjective opinion.

I've never taken the position of everything I say is right so there seems little point in asserting that I did.

When someone is poor it's because they are in a state of poverty. Anyone below the poverty line is considered poor.

The poverty line in this country is measured by changes to the average income.

Average incomes are distorted by high income earners that are generally classed as rich people.

The more rich people the higher the poverty line the more poor people as a result.

It's been measured that way for 40 years and it's the reason why more people are slipping below the poverty line.

As for my choice of a country full of rich people or one full of poor people.... I'll take neither.

I can't afford to even holiday in another country let alone move there (plus I'm not interested in either)

I'll just stay here because it's my home and offers 2 things I need - food on the table and a roof over my head Smile

PE: not wanting to live in a rich country or a poor country would appear to mean that you prefer the status quo?

In that case the odds are Short-en Bill then given their negative gearing position... so far the alternatives have been hilarious.

Welcome back to Mexico!
Er a reducing expenditure person is the only way to go.
I agree.

Which is why I said what I did.

Negative gearing sponsorship is expensive. Let's get rid of it.

Bill Shorten will cost retirees.

Retirees are people that already paid their dues.

Justice for dues paying retirees I say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grocon and Boral can pass their costs on - Retirees do not have that luxury.

Neither do low income earners, and by ditching Labor's Low Income Superannuation Contribution Abbott is contradicting himself when he says he has no plans to change super [Image: Talking%20Ear%20Off.gif]

... and that's the difference between Shorten and Abbott...

Shorten wants to tax high income superannuants, Abbott wants to tax low income superannuants.
