#1
i am Shin Asuka.i come from and i am a oversea student.

before i came to here i looked forward to know many australia friends in melbourne

but when i actually came here, i found it is very hard ...........

why foreigners (oversea students) are hard to make friends with local australia people......??

especially, why a Asian is very difficult to pursue a local girl???

i don't think just for cultural conflict。

You'd probably find that the same applies to any location across the globe, Shin.

What's worse still is people posting here looking for open friendships and then not responding to interest for gender based reasons.

We all have agendas. Can't really complain when agendas are not aligned.

I agree with iblis. what's more here in Europe we've got the same problem- students from other countries are usually treated differently than natives. society of natives is like a fortress and it is really hard to get inside it.

Shin,

Don't be so desperate. When you are over desperate you won't get what you want. I am an Asian, international student just like you. You need to learn and adapt. Aussies are pretty friendly actually. Good drink mates <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piwo.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> My playful days are over, getting older LOL. Just remember don't be so desperate <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />.

Best of luck!
