Hi Peoples

Yeah, you aren't far off, glen. I actually just make the cut off age of 35, i'll be 36 in December ...hopefully they won't kick me out on my Birthday. :-) Should be pleasant since i'm still fairly young at heart with no kids and all that.

Watch out for those Israeli secret service guys, they like Aus passports!![/quote]

Mine has been tied in bureaucracy for the past eight months and is now off to Canberra for a visa stamp.

Apparently MOSAD don't use copies, they use originals, Peter. That's what makes the passports so affective, they're of existing everyday people. Australia does the same thing. Probably all secret service types do.

Did you say that you are learning Chinese, glen?
Reply
#28
Yeah I tried to learn a bit of mandarin but it was super difficult for me as I have the memory of a dung bettle.

Last time I was in China I did not have any trouble accessing news websites etc. And melbourenchat was accessible too which was great!!

Give learning another go, maybe try a different language learning technique, glen.

Yeah I will probably end up just repeating the same beginner course!! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Tongue' />

haha, i don't know to be honest ... most peoples pictures seem to be missing it looks like ... weird! Also now when you get notified in email of a reply to a subscribed topic it doesn't take you to the most recent post, it takes you to the start of the forum which is kinda annoying. But i'm sure Glen's ironing out all the kinks.

Oh and what's with the 'vote this post up' and 'vote this post down' ?? is it a popularity contest now!? lol

yeah i am still learning how this works myself. the voting thing might need to go if a voting war begins. i think i can turn of negative voting and just allow positive voting <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> that might be more suitable to create a friendly atmosphere!

as for the photos, well you have 2 separate pics. you have a photo on your profile page and then you have an "avatar" that appears near your posts. my avatar is the emu road sign thing.

cheers, glen

Good thinking about only positive voting, glen.

OK only positive voting is now set <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
