Jazz Bar/club In The City

hey, can anyone recommend a cool jazz bar in the city for chilling out? i'm not too familiar with the jazz bars around but someplace with good live music but yet not overly loud so that conversations are still possible. if you know a place that's not too pretentious, do let me know, thanks!
