It's the testers who have been hoodwinked!
They could not be bothered to clamp an instrument onto the tail pipe.
It doan matter what the software says, it's what comes out of the pipes at the back that counts.

Switzerland has banned the sale of VW cars.
God they must hate the Germans!

It seems the engine management software was smart enough to detect when the car was being tested as distinct from being used in normal driving.
Thus the software switched the engine management into "lean" run mode.
That is my understanding (in a nutshell) of what the VW engineers have done.
Maybe I am wrong.

its why they owned up so quickly, there was no way to deny it was intentional

US govt might shut down tomorrow, so anything they do would be by proxy and iou's :D

I haven't owned an Alfa - would a Ferrari be OK, or a Bugatti, or a 1928 Plymouth?
