Hey guys,

I set the bing search engine as my homepage. Not because it is particularly good but because they have really nice background images. I still do most of my searching with google.

I was quite impressed with todays bing photo!

The bing homepage is a nice personal homepage to have and the information scattered amongst the image is neat.

I don't use a website homepage with Google Chrome, where there is an option to thumbnail a number of most recently visited sites as a homepage.

Hello Glen and Iblis!

Yeah I think Google is better than Bing by a long way.
But it could boil down to what you do mostly in your searches.
I search mostly for tech stuff and Google does the trick.

Same with me Iblis, I use Google Chrome, it's not perfect but not too bad.
I have mine set to load with eight predefined tabs.
That may take a little longer at first but then it is plain fast sailing.

Naturally Melbourne Chat is one of the tabs! (Happy Glen?)

I also have set the PC booting to open Chrome, so straight into action.

Of course the real "Bing" died ages ago! That is the real Bing Crosby!

Hello Iblis!

Is that Chandler Bing? Or Bing Chandler?
If he/she is under 50 I won't know him/her!
Surely the name Bing died with Bing Crosby?

If not already, and just like the Great Wall of China, Google HQ will be visible from space.

Google is developing an operating system for netbooks, glen: http://googlesystem.blogspot.com/2009/07/g...ing-system.html

...and certainly a +1 to my pro column decision making process regarding acquiring a notebook/netbook. I so want to be able to affordably surf the net from bed.

On the subject of Google Chrome... be sure to run the Google Chrome updates (in the About Google Chrome dialogue window)... the latest version is drool worthy‼

Hello Iblis.

Does Chrome allow one to go back if one is not happy?
Maybe I have the latest version?

I don't think so. There is no external installation process--the update is done auto-magically with only a Chrome restart required.

The latest version is 3.0.195.21.

Check your version by clicking the Spanner in the top right hand corner of Google Chrome and then selecting the "About Google Chrome" menu item near the bottom of the menu. The version information and update option is at the bottom of the "About Google Chrome" dialogue window.

Hello Glen.

Nice stuff.
Bing seems to have a better "face" than Google, but is still a long way off the pace in the world of "Googling".
Has anyone as yet used the phrase: "I'll Bing it"? Posted Image

Glen.
Why would anyone bother to use it?
Is Bing better at some esoteric facet?
