Preston - Reservoir

I'm looking to rent somewhere near Brunswick, the lowest rent prices are at Preston and Reservoir, does that mean that they are not good and safe areas to live in?

Would appreciate some info.

Stay away from northlands area, that can be bad, but generally preston and reservoir are good to live in.
