It's always been my biggest fear given I live in a tower block that would be down in seconds if an earthquake happened here.

we are just microbes compared to the powers of nature,

sinkholes, earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis, all pretty fierce, you can sort of run away from floods and bushfires, but that other stuff, ...

 

hopefully they do the best they can, bury the dead, rescue the survivors and hope another one doesnt happen anytime soon

I totally agree with you particularly about the relative power of humans v nature.

 

We seem to have an overinflated sense of our power - that of course is always rectified when we pass on.

 

Poor attitude to have to always blame something or someone for anything that damages our perception of invincibility!

 

 

Yes, one wishes those folks affected by this latest natural disaster comfort in their grief and pain, strength in their recovery, and hope for the future.

 

These people are not just italians - they are you and me.
