Cheapest Melway in Town
#1
Hi everyone,

I am currently looking to buy a new edition of the Melways and so I set myself the task of finding the cheapest copy in Melbourne.

I started at the Melways website but the recommended retail price (RRP) is $47.95! - http://www.ausway.com.au/ez/category16_1.htm

Anyway I am sure I can do better so I will report back as I find some better prices.

Cheers, Glen <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Hi, all. The trick to buying a Melways is to always buy LAST YEARS for THIS YEAR. As someone else has already stated, those newspaper/magazine stands in the CBD

sell them at really low prices. The 2010 Melways is going new for nearly $60.00, so buy 2009 for half that amount.

I just recently bought the 2010 Edition Melway at Big W for about $35, definately the cheapest I could find after visiting many other places (Dymocks wanted $60!). Big W keep the Melways at the information counter rather than in the book section where you find the lesser roadmaps (UBD etc). Just go up to the counter and ask for it there :-)
