Melbourne has many little gems but this is one I urge you to see. Its quite delightful or some might say quirky. Its Russels old corner shop and owned by Lola Russel a well known old actress.
The shop is surrounded by huge buildings and Lola still lives there. Do go while its still there.
As you are wandering up Kings Street or along La Trobe Street at the edge of the CBD you suddenly come upon this funny old house that is completely over shadowed by the high rise buildings on La Trobe Street â so over shadowed that I have known people to walk past and not see it. The Old Corner Shop is the oldest private residence in the city.
Its owned by Lola Russel a well known Melbourne celebrity.
Well worth googling.
