Jamie Oliver Melbourne Restaurant

Jamie Oliver's Melbourne Restaurant is part of the "Fifteen" restaurant chain which was started by Jamie in the UK. Tobie Puttock is the Head Chef at the Fifteen Melbourne restaurant.

Fifteen Melbourne has employed lots of trainees. The purpose of Fifteen is to inspire disadvantaged young people to believe that they can create for themselves a career in the restaurant business.

A percentage of the Profits from Fifteen go to the Fifteen Foundation Australia, to provide these young people with the working environment in which to expand their knowledge and practical experience.

The menu at Fifteen Melbourne includes fresh, simple Italian-inspired dishes that allow the ingredients to speak for themselves.

Being british I have seen a lot of the press around Jamie's ventures and have to say I think the whole fifteen concept is great. It gives people a chance to make something of themselves and by eating there you support such a great concept (I'd love to eat there sometime!

Have to agree that Jamies heart is really in the right place. Taking disadvantage kids on board is such a great idea and to give a percentage of the profits to a good cause makes the price of the meals easier to accept surely?

Last year I saw a documentation about his restaurant on German TV. Jamie is doing a great job there. Though it was hard to see how a good rate of these kids kicked the chance given away. Some of the young people did to their very best to be fired.

I guess once you get used to NOT working its hard to get started! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> Hopefully they change their attitude sooner than later.

Do you think there are any countries where they have not heard of Jamie? I hope so! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> To be honest I am starting to get sick of him a bit. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
