The largest film event on the summer calender is here! The world's largest short film festival, Sony Tropfest, returns to the big screen in front of a national audience of friends, family and film fans alike. Now in it's 15th year, Sony Tropfest showcases the work of 16 of the country's most talented filmmakers whose films have been selected to headline the festival.



The full day's entertainment commences from 3pm with a great live DJ, band and MC's and festival goers should head down early to enjoy the day's events before settling down to watch the 16 finalists short films beamed live via satellite from Sydney.



NOTE: The festival receives a classification exemption from the Office of Film and Literature Classification. Some of the films may contain course language, violence or sexual references. It is recommended for mature audiences of 15 years and over.



It is expected that over 150,000 people will come together on Sunday 18th February 2007 to view 16 finalist films, selected from more than 600 entries at venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Canberra and Hobart.

09.20pm: Sony Tropfest finalist films Part 2 commences



10.10pm: Judging time-out



10.30pm: Awards ceremony

An Imaginary Life

Synopsis: What happens to an imaginary friend once they're forgotten? Where do they go? How do they live? And can their lives ever have any meaning again?





Bad Yoghurt

Director/Producer: Shaun Beagley

State: QLD

Synopsis: On hot summer's day, a sexy girl sits by a pool. She eats some hot sexy yoghurt. But everything is not hot and sexy... because the yoghurt is bad.





Being Boston

Director/Producer: Justin Drape

State: NSW

Synopsis: When Jeff is dumped by his girlfriend he buys Boston, a boxer puppy, to keep him company through the lonely months ahead. However, Jeff's unpredictable behaviour means it could be some time before Boston makes this man his best friend.





Between The Flags

Director/Producer: Jayce White

State: NSW

Synopsis: How many rioters does it take to start a riot? When two guys from opposing sides of conflict are the first arrivals for a beach riot, they are initially unsure of the accepted etiquette.





Counter

Synopsis: A troubled accountant inherits a mysterious counter that counts for no apparent reason. Desperate to know its purpose, he begins to question everything he does in his drab, daily routine, and is soon drawn into an obsessive and life-changing search for meaning.

The Grey Cloud

Real Thing

Synopsis: A woman wakes in her bed beside a man who claims to be her husband but she has no memory of him.





Road Rage

Director/Producer: Mark Bellamy

Synopsis: One morning, in busy peak hour traffic, two motorist's lives collide in a near traffic accident. One driver, shaken and angry, watches as his fellow commuter speeds away without acknowledgment or apology for the near miss. He decides to chase him down in a quest for revenge.

Synopsis: When a man and a woman each choose the paths they wish to take, their son is left aside. Three lives, two decisions, one still night.





The Story Of Ned

Director/Producer: Simon Weaving (Swiz Pty Limited)

State: ACT

Synopsis: John Doyle as the omnipotent yet not altogether totally reliable narrator - tells the tragic tale of Ned, a little story who has no ending. Richly animated with a fabulously original score, The Story of Ned will bring a tear to the eye (and a drip to the nose) if it manages to end in time.





The Von

Synopsis: Alex Vonzitzavitz is about to face the most humiliating experience of his life. That nightmare you had about turning up to school naked? Well this is worse! But don't panic! Superheroes always find a way. Strap yourself in for the true story of The Von.





Yellow

Director/Producer: William Allert

Synopsis: When a well dressed man climbs into a taxi one night, the tired driver settles in for another boring ride in silence. But when he soon finds himself parked outside a strange house, fearing for his life.
