FINA World Swimming Championships - Opening Ceremony
Three of the biggest names in Australian music will headline the Opening Ceremony for the FINA World Swimming Championships.
Natalie Bassingthwaighte, Shannon Noll and Christine Anu will join 320 singers from the Australian Girls Choir and the National Boys Choir for the two-hour Opening Ceremony for the 16-day international aquatics championships.
The FINA World Swimming Championships has a forecast budget of $81 million and will be broadcast to an estimated audience of one billion people around the globe â a bigger television audience than the Commonwealth Games.
Minister for Sport and Recreation James Merlino said the Opening Ceremony would also feature a special tribute to Australian swimming legend Ian Thorpe.
