Real Footy On Melbourne Television :-)
#1
Does Melbourne show real football on Television aka Rugby League football?

AFL is shown in NSW not at a better timeslot than Rugby League though.

I'm assuming League is shown at like midnight in Melbourne...I certainly hope that's not the case.

Melbourne posted a large crowd for the international test match league series last year.

aussie rules takes all the good time slots. you basically need to get pay tv like foxtel to have good rugby coverage! i don't understand why they just don't make a few more free to air TV stations!

actually now that i think of it, maybe if you have a digital set top box you might get a few more free channels that provide sport. but i never got a set top box because our local community TV station is not available in the digital format yet (ie channel 31).

Channel 31? Is that like a community station like TVS? clueless

I don't expect league to get the same coverage as AFL. ahwell :-(

If I were to move to Melbourne that could be a deciding factor. So make sure you get Rugby League on Television down there, otherwise I can't come down...and we don't want that, do we? :-) :-) :-)

I picked up on a point during your discussion here that I hope you can help with. Are the times reasonable across Australia for sporting events? For example events on the West coast are they recieved at a reasonable time by those on the East coast? I guess it is a time difference issue?

Hi Carl, Yep I hope you enjoyed the Rugby on WIN TV. I also requested they deliver potato chips and cold beer to all households in australia! I hope they found enough supplies! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Hi Debbie, the timezone difference between the east coast and west coast is 2 hours so it does not have too much impact on sport on TV. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
