Anthony Callea - The Palms at Crown - Melbourne

3 & 4 August 2007

One of the most popular young singers in Australia today, Anthony Callea, is coming to The Palms at Crown.

Anthony’s career took off when he competed in Australian Idol series two, finishing the series as runner up. His No. 1 hit The Prayer was the fastest selling recording in Australian history, as well as being the highest selling Australian single - going four times Platinum with sales exceeding 280,000 units to date.

He received an Aria award for the Highest Selling Single and in 2005 was awarded the Channel V Oz Artist of the Year award. He also received three trophies at the ARIA #1 Chart Awards. He has performed The Prayer for Pavarotti and he recently won an Outstanding Achievement Award from the Australian Gospel Music Awards. Anthony has toured with some of music’s best including Diana Ross and Westlife.

Don’t miss your chance to see this vocal powerhouse as he performs songs from his self titled album plus his new album A New Chapter.

I am so delighted you are an Anthony fan. He was the ONLY real talent the Idol show produced.

He is a lovely person too!

Don't know Glen. He did Wicked and a few shows at Crown. He also did a Fox talent show as a mentor/judge. The Idol show lost total credibility in the second season when Callea lost to Casey Donovan. She was hopeless, she could not sing in the lower register. I actually felt sorry for the poor girl. From then on the show struggled.

These shows are really just money spinners.

It seems all these idol folk disappear apart from the first two. GuyS and Shannon.

The American version last year lost credibility and was also a flop especially last year as the clear winner was Adam but there was no way America would let a gay guy win!

Now Adam is a super star and no one recalls the winner.

So its true; the majority does not actually know what's best and a ruling class should govern instead, or at the very least; democracy should include the right to vote registrations based on conscience.

Oops, did i say that out loud?

Don't get me started on that Iblis. I feel Governments should not follow public thinking but should be a step ahead.

Of course if I had my way I would get rid of public votes on these shows.. its never really about talent.
