I am starting to forget by basketball number. I think it might have been 6. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' /> I was a terrible shooter. Though I could steel the ball ok. My basketball went downhill when i got taller and they figured i would make a good forward! boy were they wrong! i was terrible. If only they left me as a guard i might still be playing <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Rolleyes' />

Has anyone on here been to the obversation deck?

I'm planning on going there at Christmas and grabbing some "sunset" pictures. <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/cool.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='' />
Yup i have, i went a couple of months ago ... i loved it, amazing views from up there! I didn't go on the Edge nor do i think it would be worth it ... you're only in there for about 1 minute, they take a photo which again you have to pay extra for. ... but i highly reccomend it for the 360 views you get of melbourne/victoria! it's wicked! You can pay $16.50 for single entry or $20 will get you in once in the day and once at night the same day - apparently it's awesome at night too! =D

It was sad to see the Rialto ob deck shut down though there is talk that it will be replaced with an international class restaurant. Word I've heard is that they will be head hunting a well known chef to run it.

The thing is though, I actually preferred the Rialto. It had those outdoor balconies and the glass was not tinted. The Eureka windows are tinted which can make it hard to take great snaps because of all the reflections.

Yah i heard the same thing ... meant to be one of the best Australian restaurants opening up there.

The Eureka has an outdoor balcony too =) As for the reflections on the glass, get someone to hold up a dark jacket and the reflection disappears ... i managed to get really good snaps up there using that technique.

I prefer Eureka ... it's got 360 views and it's much higher so you can see even more. I would love to go check it out at night if they're open!

Can you explain how to do the "dark jacket" trick?
Well Peter, it's just trial and error really ... you simply hold something dark up beside the photographer like a jumper or something (or a person all in black might work) so that instead of the LED lights showing up in the window as reflection it's just dark and you can't notice any reflection - only works with dark materials though i think. You want the reflection of the dark material to show up in the window where the camera is pointing - if that makes sense.

It seems to work taking photos in Eureka if you just position yourself on particular angles too.... that's what i ended up doing coz i didnt have my mum next to me the whole time.

(Nice to see you back again)

Thanks for the trick. I don't exactly follow, but I will keep it in mind for the next time I'm in that situation.

How are things with BF?

Good weekend coming up?
Hey PJM

Things are good thanks for asking =)

Just got home from his place actually, enjoying a spectacular lightning storm outside my window as we speak! The storms were NUTS, my brother got all bruised while out riding when the hail came down the size of baseballs! And i know people who's cars have been damaged badly from it!

I'm heading into the city tomorrow for a pinic with some random's from a brunch group i'm involved in ... then i'm going to head to Moomba if the weather holds out and then perhaps can't up with a friend in the evening ... ralx day on Monday me thinks.

How about you?

Ah on Sunday morn it will be breakfast at McDs!

Then not sure as we have 2 g sons and 1 g daughter staying a couple of days, whilst their mums and dads make whoopydo!

Fortunately they are all about the same age.

On Monday one of them is in a soccer match.

I see Moomba was washed out today, should be OK tomorrow!

Here in Preston we only got a few normal hailstones.
LOL re woopydoo! hahahaha

Oh was it? As in they canceled it? I hope that doesnt happen tomorrow or it'll look like a day of shopping for me! Or perhaps i will go visit my brother before i go to see my friend!

Yah there is 1 balcony down towards the cube =)
Hello Kara.

The main Moomba day is Monday is it not!

That's when the Birdman is on, right?

Do they still have the "Moomba Masters"?
What's moomba masters - tennis or something? They have various sporting attraction however sport is FAR from anything i'm interested in so i cannot give you the low down on that.

There were not many rides either, so i decided i would dish out and just go on the move extreme ride there - the SLINGSHOT! pretty cool ... though for the amount ya pay you'd think it would go slightly longer!

I got there just after the morning's rain stopped - about 1pm ... and then i was only there for a couple hours before i met up with a friend to go to a movie. It didn't rain 1 drop while i was there! haha
