#1
hey guys, i just started mucking around with Facebook. It is actually starting to be a bit of fun. You can see a link to my profile in my signature below. but you probably won't see all the info until you sign up.

If you are already a facebook user feel free to add me as a friend <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

Cheers, Glen

I've yet to open an account on Facebook, still using Myspace myself.

i am playing with both.

and they both have good and bad points.

facebook seems somehow newer and more advanced (with lots of add ons) but the simplicity of myspace is hard to beat. i still prefer myspace.

my main goal on using both of these forums is to promote the melbournechat.org website. i am finding it hard to gauge whether that has been worthwhile or not. i need to start collecting more stats.

cheers, glen

I found myspace is ok at first but gets really boring. I guess, if you use the MSN or Windows Live network as it is known now for everything, mysace offers you very little.

Facebook on the otherhand seems to generate its own content. It shows you what has changed accross all your friends instntly, and motivates you to rebuttle and start conversing. I'm not big on social neworks so I could be wrong, but facebook seems to be lacking a blog component. However it would go well with a wordpress or something =]

Yeah i am amazed facebook got so popular really. I would not be surprised if people get sick of it in a year or so and it started to lose favour with the teenie boppers <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />

I think it will last longer because it encourages interactivness. longer than myspae at least. and it doesnt look trashy. But windows live spaces is under rated, although i dont use them myself, if everyone that used msn and hotmail just used that, it would be much easier as you only have one accout to maintain.

Hi! My name is Sandra Papadopoulos. It's been ...35 years since I was at Melbourne (best place I ever seen). Went to Albert Park High School and I want to hear from my classmates Joanna Hatziloizou, Hellen Tsamis and all the others. Thanks.

(I live in Greece, Volos city).

Yeah lots of people seem to be on there at the moment! Though I wonder whether they will suffer the same fate as myspace <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' />
