Melbourne Newspapers



I would like to hear which Melbourne Newspaper people like best. I get a free copy of the Herald Sun at work and so I tend to read that but I am thinking of subscribing to a local Melbourne (or Victorian) paper so I can keep a close eye on what is happening around town. Any suggestions would be welcome.



Also any free Melbourne newspapers would be good too.

When I'm in Melbourne I buy The Age if I want to read a newspaper. In Sydney I get the Sydney Morning Herald, which is pretty much the same (they are both Fairfax publications).

The comforting thud of newspapers landing in my front yard acted as an alarm clock for many years. For years I consumed two papers a day. A third awaited me at work.

My consumer profile was always atypical. I admit an addiction to newspapers. A good broadsheet is not just food for the brain, it’s an olfactory, tactile and auditory experience. It is a hard habit to break but over a period of three years I broke it complete.
