Check Internet Speed
You know I have my internet with Optus Cable and generally I am a pretty happy customer. Though sometimes when I surf the net, things slow down and I am not sure whether it is because the website I am visiting is dodgy or because my internet connection just konked out!
Anyway I was trying to find some places on the internet where I can check internet speed! Here are a few speed tests with my speeds for my connection.
McAffee Internet Connection Speedometer
http://us.mcafee.com/root/speedometer/default.asp
- I had a score of 200 kilobits per second
Bandwidth Speed Test (it has an aussie setting)
http://www.bandwidthplace.com/speedtest/
- it gave me 1200 kilobits per second
Thai Visa
http://speedtest.thaivisa.com/
- it gave me 670 kilobits per second (downloads) and 210 kilobits per second (uploads).
Anyway so I am really none the wiser after all that! But I think probably the middle one (Bandwidth Speed Test) was the most accurate.
Anyone know what speed I should be getting with Optus Cable? I have no idea really. I figured it would be around 1500 kbs!
