Why Do Melburnians Hate Sydneysiders And Why Do They Seem So Unfriendly!
#1
Hey there

I've lived in Melbourne for three years now and every time I introduce myself to a Melburnian as someone from Sydney, I get the full treatment of how much they hate Sydney. Yes, I hate Sydney too.. but do I really need to be blamed for that city's inadequacies and churlishness?

Now, my ex-boyfriend is a born and bred Melburnian and I have insider knowledge of how clicky the whole social scene in Melbourne is.

Don't get me wrong I love Melbourne, but do the native inhabitants seem a little cold towards the 'foreigners'?

Interested in your thoughts either way....

hi there,

i have not really heard much negative stuff said about sydney people. i personally have no interest in the city of sydney. i was there in the airport once for a connecting flight and that was enough for me. i personally am not really into big cities. it is nothing personal against the people that live there.

are sydney people supposed to be different to melbourne folk? i wouldn't know really. i just figure they like rugby more than melbourne people! <img src='http://www.melbournechat.org/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='Smile' /> and maybe it is a bit warmer up there!! lucky buggers!!

welcome to town! i hope you find the people at melbournechat.org to be nice!!

take care,

glen

whenever i've been in melbourne everyone has seemed friendly enough. but then maybe the fact that i'm not really into any sports helps.....
